The YMCA Youth Empowerment app is developed for YMCA staff and volunteers in Australia. Its a platform for YMCA staff & volunteers to learn about and connect around our strategic direction of empowering young people.
The purpose of the app is:
- to align our understanding of the concept of youth empowerment
- to work collaboratively across geographical boundaries by
o creating a network of people and programs
o encouraging direct connections between YMCA’s
o sharing resources, research, applications, program models and other useful documents
If you want to be a part of a YMCA in which we connect better and collaborate to empower young people, I urge you to download the app and actively use it! The success of a collaborative tool sits in how people use it.
Youll find a lot of information about our strategic direction of Empowering Young People: What is it? How we do it? How can a YMCA be empowered? What are the types of programs were involved in?
Aside from learning about what you do, youll also be able to connect with the actual people doing the work. This way well be able to better connect across boundaries.
There are some nifty social media like tools. Theres a social wall (kind of like Facebook), links to the actual Facebook and Youtube, and the ability to easily share the app with others.
We hope you like it and use it to empower more young people.
